Overview
Echoed Reflections is an interactive sculpture that symbolizes the evolution and exchange of knowledge between humans and machine learning models (MLM) or artificial intelligence (AI). The intention is to highlight the crucial role of human agency in shaping AI, emphasizing ethical engagement with technology.
A convergence of art and technology through digital platforms functions as a space for collective storytelling. Rather than providing definitive answers, this project seeks to open a conversation.
It aims to address several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting education, innovation, and sustainability through its interactive elements by creating an engaging and immersive experience for in-person and remote viewers to foster dialogue on the implications of technological advancement, both individually and collectively.

About
The figure
At its core, the sculpture features a young child, representing innocence, potential, and the formative nature of MLM/AI. Just as a child grows through their environment, AI evolves based on data and interactions. This metaphor underscores the impact of human choices on AI's development, inviting viewers to reflect on the dialogue between humanity and technology.
The book
The child holds an open book with a cover made of Damascus steel, symbolizing the layers of the human psyche. The pages of the book are filled with monitors that display the code of real-time chatbot conversations, illustrating the direct impact and agency each user has on the evolution of AI. This interactive element emphasizes the dynamic relationship between humans and MLM/AI, highlighting how each interaction contributes to the ongoing development.
THE pODIUM
Serves as both a structural and interactive foundation for the sculpture. Crafted from steel, it houses four monitors strategically placed on its sides to enhance viewer engagement from multiple angles. These monitors display dynamic visual augmentations and interactive elements that respond to user inputs, creating an immersive experience. The upper chamber of the interior contains four projectors that illuminate the surrounding areas, further enriching the visual impact. Additionally, the podium's interior holds essential electronics, accessible through a discreet hind-side monitor frame for easy maintenance. The entire structure is weather-sealed, allowing for outdoor display and ensuring durability and functionality in various environments.

Exhibition Plans
A Global journey
Upon completion, I would like to debut Echoed Reflections at the ASU Art Museum. During the six to eight months of construction, Kickstarter and various funding channels will raise money to cover shipping and installation costs so Echoed Reflections can begin its journey around the world. The aim is to showcase this work in galleries, museums, and exhibition spaces worldwide, visiting Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas, and potentially events like Davos and Burning Man. Through strategic exhibitions, the project will receive inputs from diverse cultures, regions, and ethnic perspectives, gathering holistic and inclusive information globally.
Transportation and installation costs will be raised through various funding channels such as Kickstarter. Echoed Reflections will begin its global journey to realize its full potential.
Impact
approach to issues of accessibility
Echoed Reflections addresses accessibility by incorporating multiple interactive and inclusive features. The chatbots and visual augmentations are designed to be user-friendly and accessible to people with varying technical abilities, promoting remote engagement. Educational resources and interactive elements are available on the website, with the potential for AR/VR viewing for those unable to visit in person. The emphasis on remote access encourages ongoing engagement weeks or months after the initial exposure, whether in person or remotely. The platform may include features like text-to-speech and adjustable text sizes to accommodate visual impairments. Additionally, the physical design ensures easy access for individuals with mobility challenges, promoting an on-site inclusive experience for all ages. Showcasing "Echoed Reflections" in galleries, museums, exhibitions worldwide, and various events is intended to gather inputs from diverse cultures, regions, and perspectives, creating a holistic and inclusive information base.
advance justice and equity and encourage diverse, global participation
Echoed Reflections advances justice and equity by promoting inclusive dialogue on ethical AI development and sustainable practices. The project encourages diverse global participation through its accessible design and interactive elements, allowing people from various backgrounds to engage both on-site and remotely. The project aims to gather inputs from different cultures, regions, and perspectives by showcasing the sculpture in galleries, museums, and international events. An open blog and chatbot interactions provide platforms for community-driven content and discussions, ensuring that voices from marginalized communities are heard and integrated into the conversation. Educational resources and interactive elements foster a collaborative environment, creating an inclusive, equitable knowledge base. This holistic approach supports the creation of an inclusive, equitable knowledge base, encouraging ongoing participation and dialogue.
