Matthew Derminio is an innovative Sculptor and Designer based in Phoenix, Arizona. With a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art and New Media from Northern Arizona University, he has developed a versatile skill set in carpentry, casting, metalwork, and digital fabrication. Drawn to the challenging and rewarding medium of stone, Matthew has made it a primary focus in his artistic practice since he established his studio in 2022.
His artistic vision has been significantly influenced by the powerful design elements of brutalist architecture and the fluidity of abstract and contemporary art movements. A passion for sustainability drives Matthew’s creative process as he strives to harmoniously blend past experiences with future callings. Alongside his artistic career, Matthew is expanding his professional scope by pursuing a Master's in International Business at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. This combination of artistic talent and business acumen uniquely positions him to address intricate social, political, and environmental challenges.
